My hares are similar in style, and they have also been compared to donnie darko, people view my work and experience either a deeply possitive connection to it or a deeply negative one, this is what happens when you create work that goes down deep into our souls inner workings and brings our whole life experience to the surface.

Giambattista is probably just made uncomfortable by the sculpture, “a rush of blood to the head” on the artist’s website.
The artist is not trying to portray animals in pain, fear, and lust. She is showing us humans in pain, fear, lust, and completely vunerable in animal form.
Great work on this sculpture, I love the expression in the hare’s toes.

There is beautiful modeling on display here. The aesthetic is a wondrous balance of rendered, anatomically correct form and subjective, exaggerated shape.
